obyo is a platform that uses AI to turn videos, articles, and documentation into interactive courses. These terms explain how things work, especially around course creation and ownership. By using obyo, you agree to these terms.

Creating Courses

When you generate a course on obyo, you're helping build a free educational resource for everyone. Here's how it works:

• You provide a seed URL (a video, article, or documentation page) and our AI researches the broader topic and generates a comprehensive course.
• There is a small fee to cover the AI processing costs involved in generating the course.
• Your name is credited as the course funder, and your profile shows stats like how many people have studied the courses that you've funded.

Source Material & Your Responsibilities

When you submit a URL for course generation, you represent that:

• The source material is publicly accessible on the internet (not behind a paywall, login, or access restriction).
• You are not submitting content that you know to be infringing, illegal, or in violation of any third party's rights.
• You understand that the AI will research beyond your seed URL and synthesize information from multiple public sources to create original educational content.

Course Ownership & Licensing

This is the important part. When you pay to generate a course, you're covering the cost of the AI research and content creation — but the resulting course becomes part of obyo's public library. Think of it like donating a book to a public library: you made it possible, you get credit for it, and everyone benefits from it.

• Courses belong to Braviata LLC, the company behind obyo. By generating a course, you grant Braviata LLC full ownership and all rights to the content.
• You are credited as the funder and your profile will always reflect the courses you've helped bring into the world.
• Courses cannot be deleted by users. Once a course is published, it's part of the obyo library for everyone to learn from. If there's an issue with a course, please reach out to us and we'll take care of it.
• Courses are free for everyone with a free account to study. The whole point is to make learning accessible. Your contribution helps make that happen.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use obyo. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian review these terms with you.

Your Account

• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You can choose to make your profile public or private. Public profiles show your display name, bio, and the courses you've funded.
• You can rate, review, and flag content on the platform. Please be constructive and respectful.

Account Suspension & Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these terms or our content guidelines.
• Abuse the platform, including submitting prohibited content or harassing other users.
• Attempt to circumvent content moderation or platform security measures.

We'll make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action, except in cases where immediate removal is necessary to protect the platform or its users. You may also delete your own account at any time from your settings page.

Content Guidelines

Courses are generated by AI based on publicly available source material. We do our best to ensure quality, but:

• AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors. Use the flag feature to report inaccuracies.
• Courses should be based on legitimate, publicly accessible educational material.
• We reserve the right to remove or modify any course that violates these guidelines.

Prohibited Content

obyo is an educational platform. We welcome courses on a wide range of topics, including sensitive subjects when presented in an educational context (for example, sexual health, drug policy, history of conflicts, or cybersecurity). However, the following types of content are strictly prohibited and will be automatically rejected:

• Pornographic or sexually explicit content — sex education and relationship health are fine; pornography and erotica are not.
• Weapons of mass destruction — instructions for creating bombs, chemical weapons, or biological weapons.
• Illegal drug manufacturing — step-by-step instructions for synthesizing controlled substances. (Drug policy, pharmacology, and addiction recovery are allowed.)
• Content exploiting minors — any content that sexualizes or exploits children in any way.
• Terrorism and violent extremism — content that promotes or provides operational guidance for acts of terrorism.
• Hate speech and supremacist ideology — content promoting racial, ethnic, or religious supremacy or inciting violence against groups.
• Criminal how-to guides — step-by-step instructions for hacking, fraud, identity theft, stalking, or harassment.

Course requests are automatically screened before generation begins. If your request is rejected and you believe this was an error, please contact us at [email protected].

Payments & Refunds

The generation fee covers AI processing costs. If course generation fails due to a technical error on our end, we'll either retry the generation or issue a refund. Since the fee covers real compute costs that are incurred during generation, refunds for successfully generated courses are generally not available.

Disclaimer of Warranties

obyo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Course content is generated by AI and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any course content.

Courses on obyo are for educational purposes only and should not be treated as professional, medical, legal, financial, or engineering advice. Always consult qualified professionals for decisions in those areas.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Braviata LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of obyo, including but not limited to errors in AI-generated content, loss of data, or interruption of service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of obyo shall not exceed the amount you paid to obyo in the thirty (30) days preceding the claim.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of obyo shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Arizona.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll do our best to notify you of significant changes. Continued use of obyo after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
